About Us
The Tea Party movement can be summarized as a grassroots effort to advocate the following tenets:
- Limited Government
- Lower Taxes
- Eliminate Wasteful Spending
- Free Markets
- Individual Responsibility
WHO WE ARE:
We are a group of concerned citizens who are dedicated to America’s founding principles of individual responsibility, limited government, and free market economics. In other words–life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We are all volunteers and our group receives no funding, other than your donations.
We’re your friends and neighbors. We’re your best friends, and people you’ve never met. We’re wealthy professionals and hard working blue collars. We’re Republicans and we’re Democrats. We’re “We the People”. We’re you.
WHAT WE BELIEVE:
We believe in reducing wasteful government spending, lowering taxes, and promoting free markets.
WHY WE ORGANIZED:
Our purpose is to provide a voice for everyday citizens as well as a platform to coordinate our efforts and disseminate news on proposed legislation.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Get involved. Write, email, and call your legislators (See Rep. Page). Sign petitions and come to Tea party events. Educate yourself and speak to your friends and neighbors. Together we have a voice that will be heard!
Charlotte Tea Party Mission Statement:
We are a non-partisan grassroots organization, made up of people from every race, party, and socio-economic group. We are dedicated to restoring America to a Constitutionally-based government; limited in scope and size, and centered around the fiscally conservative principles of free trade, low taxes, and reducing the national debt. We intend to remain active in Charlotte politics, believing that real change begins at the local level.
